Gold Spirals and Goose Bumps.

It was winter and the furnace was funky the day we did this shoot. Brrrr! It was a nightmare. My model was goose-bumpy and the plumber kept having to come it. We live in an imperfect world. Not everything goes according to plan. Like you needed my blog to tell you that, right?

body paint lingerie detail

body paint lingerie detail. Is it a corset or a bustier? I don't know what the difference is. I think corsets are underwear and bustiers are outerwear. Another of life's great mysteries that can be solved by a visit to Google.
Suzie is my lovely model.

glitter tattoo snake body paint

Apologies for the poor quality of the image.
The snake is gone as a glitter tattoo with gold leaf eyes and silver leaf fangs. The red glitter tongue goes into her red glitter thong.
The client is a dancer who needed something that couldn't sweat off.

New body painting photo!

I've spent the past several days editing about 2 years worth of body painting photo shoots.
Here's today's image!
Sarah's a contortionist so you never know what position she's going to wind up in. I painted her with cartoony faces that go in all different directions...much like Sarah.

New Years Eve 2008 Pacha NYC

These performers were body painted to match the fabric they were wearing. They did an aerial show at the famous Pacha Club in New York City. My DH & I were on the bus home at midnight and the bus was surrounded by throngs of people celebrating the New Year. They started rocking the bus, it was outrageous. I took the crowd picture out the bus window.

Ann- Blue imp body painting

It's Ann. I body painted her to accentuate her musculature. She's quite buff and could easily kick your, my or pretty much anybody's ass.
Her body paint is accented with vaguely tribal designs, but softer than traditional tribal. I just kinda riffed.

Flight of the Conchords body(suit)painting

Director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind) had a concept for part of a music video in the episode that he directed, Unnatural Love.
He sent us the sketch of his concept. The photo is our execution
Tomorrow I'll post video of the actors practicing making the mouth move and the eyes blink...

Jessica with a slinky

I've got students for a face painting class showing up shortly (btw, I am more than willing to travel to give face and/or body painting classes, so let me know if you'd like to have one) so this will be a quick post. Here's Jessica, with a slinky. I like how her stripes echo the colors of the slinky.
I like to give my models props because it gives them something to do whilst they are posing.

My first body painting photo shoot

My lovely model is Patrice.

I shot her up on my roof. I really like how the metallic colors blend together and how the design echoes the lines of her body. While I had done a lot of bodypainting, she was the first model that I photographed. The shoot took place about a year and a half ago. I also like the color that the fabrics inject into the images.

It's tomorrow's post. The early edition!

I know that I said I was going to post new body painting images daily to this blog. I'm trying to keep a commitment that I made. I've got a killer day tomorrow. A business meeting @ 8am followed by treking up to the Bronx where I'm a volunteer face painting kids with special needs.
I know that I'm not likely to get to post before I run out in the morning so I'm posting early. It still counts, right?
Anyway, here are some pictures of Bobby (you can see other pictures of the body paint shoot we did last year in an earlier posting) and the infamous plastic dinosaurs. Come to think of it, Bobby might be infamous as well. ;) The first image was shot using my lensbaby. It's a funky kinda lense that has a single moveable focus point.

Cat looking at body painting

Here's a picture of Gizmo the cat with props from my last body paint photo shoot. These are not the best shots of the series, but I just wanted to include them because they show Gizmo looking quizzically at my model. Gizmo tries to get into just about every body paint photo shoot that I do. He thinks that the models are invited over for his amusement.
I do like how the images shows some of the detail on the body painted corset and the painted stockings. The patterning made me happy.

A body painting a day photo.

I've been trying to post a bodypainting photo a day. Let's see how I do with it. Today's model is Foxy Squire. Her website is http://foxxxysq.weebly.com/
Foxy was fun to work with and amazingly punctual for a model. ;)

Structure & discipline are not exactly close friends to me. I have been painting a lot of bodies lately.
With the downturn in the economy, people are afraid to spend money for parties so business has been slow. I figure, if I can't make money, at least I can make art!
Wow. I really AM bad at math. I posted TWO photos for today's body paint photo of the day. Don't tell!
